1. Anderson Explodes Shasta District Fairgrounds (July 3) The gates will open at 4 pm (free admission) and activities will include face painting, games, food and refreshments. There will be a community barbecue put on by the 4H and FFA for $10 and a 50/50 raffle. Mosquito Serenade will feature the Christian band “WeR1” (usually Mosquito Serenade is on Wednesdays and at the Anderson River Park). The fireworks are free to attend and will begin at approximately 10 pm right after the auto races. The fireworks music will be simulcast on Q97. (530) 365-8095

2. Freedom Festival Redding Convention Center (July 4) All day event with food vendors, games, live entertainment. Largest fireworks display in Northern California. 6:15-6:25 pm – Welcome, Introductions & National Anthem 6:30-6:55 pm – Kids Unlimited 7 -8:10 pm – WeR1 8:25-8:45 pm – Country Gold Dancers 9 -9:45 pm – Shasta College Community Band 10 pm – Fireworks Display. The fireworks display will be simulcast by North State Public Radio KCHO/KFPR Radio 88.9 FM. Carl Bott and Linda Regan-Bott will emcee the event. (530) 225-410

3. Burney Basin Days (July 1-5) Chuck Wagon Breakfast at Christmas Tree Lane on (July 4th and 5th) from 7 - 11 am. Main Street Parade on July 4th at 10:30 am. Fireworks at Burney High School football field on July 4th. Gates open at 5 pm, music, karaoke, food, and also featuring “Family Fun” with free games and activities. Craft Fair at the Safeway parking lot, July 4th from 9 am to 4 pm and July 5th, from 9 am to 3:00 pm BBQ on, July 4th, at the Burney Vets Hall starting at 12 pm Cribbage Tournament at the Chamber Gardens on July 5th, sign-up at 1 pm, begin play at 2 pm. 4. 4th of July Celebration Mt Shasta (July 2-4) Join the fun-run/walk at 8:30 am, parade at noon, and fireworks over Lake Siskiyou at dusk. Booths and live music downtown. A big celebration for a small town! (530) 926-6004 (See story on pg. 37)

5. Fandango Days Alturas (July 3-5) Friday, July 3, 7:30 pm – Car Cruise 8-12 pm Park Pavilion Dance 8-10 am Fish Derby at Pine Creek Reservoir July 4, 9 am – Parade Lineup 10:30, Parade Starts 11:30 Afternoon in the Park car show, food, games, and more. Fire muster competition, fireman’s bar-b-que. 6. Weaverville (July 2-5) The weekend will be filled with all kinds of activities. Train rides, paintball competition, kids BMX race, concessions, live music, arm wrestling and horseshoe competitions, softball and cribbage tournaments and street dancing at Lowden Park. Destruction Derby will be in the Lowden Park area. Highland Art Center will have an arts and crafts fair. Trinity Alps Performing Arts Center will perform “I Do! I Do!”, and the Weaverville Art Cruise will be from 5-8 pm. Fireworks at Weaverville Elementary School Field at 10 pm. (530) 623-6101

7. Home with friends, family, barbecue Fire up the barbecue, slice up the watermelon, shuck the corn and invite your family and friends over for the day. Break out the football, the baseball gloves or the horseshoes and play until your heart’s content.

8. Red Bluff Heritage Days Tehama District Fairgrounds (July 4) The activities at the Fairgrounds leading up to the fireworks finale will include: lawn mower races, tractor pull, a strong man competition, a small carnival, a “local car clubs” car show, various game booths, a Teen Miss contest and talent variety show, food and refreshments booths, a live band, and many other activities. Local clubs and organizations are invited to participate and local lawn mower racers are specifically invited to take part in the lawn mower races. (530) 527-6220

10. Annual Fourth of July Event Crescent City – Del Norte County (July 4) Lhis is a huge town celebration with a parade through downtown starting at 10 am. The parade’s theme is “Honor the Past, Imagine the Future.” There will be food, merchandise, and game booths at Beachfront Park all day following the parade. The KPOD Colgate Country Showdown will be returning and the Blue Rhythm Review band will perform as will the CC Walker band. There will also be a sing along/ jam duet time. Fireworks show starts after 9 pm. Fireworks are shot over the beautiful Battery Point Lighthouse for an amazing display.
