A LIGHT MIST upon your skin, a gentle wisp of fresh mountain air, the roaring torrent of water as it free falls down a cliff crashing into the pool below—this is nature at its finest.  Wild and stunning, beautiful and free, a waterfall awakens fear and admiration in the heart of its audience.  Its enchantment rejuvenates, revives ones sense of wonder, keeping you perfectly content in the present moment, as if freezing all time outside of its secluded sanctuary.  This is the beauty of living in the North State, of living in such a place where nature’s finest is easily accessible, of living so near to such spellbinding allure. 
There are waterfalls of plenty here, several sanctuaries of bewitching wonder to be found and explored in the North State.  And this is why we asked you, our readers, to nominate your favorite nearby waterfalls to visit, coming up with the top ten:
