The Hot Spots

THIS SEASON is all about bucking tradition – and the wedding venue is no exception. More important than selecting a traditional wedding venue is finding one that truly captures the essence of who you are as a couple. You’ll still have to consider the wedding size, functionality for your guests, the ability to acquire any necessary permissions for the venue and the annoying-but-necessary budget, but here are a few unexpectedly fabulous places to consider.
A Wine Cellar: If you and your sweetie love a good red or white, this might be the spot to tie the knot. Spend the night sipping on your favorites with your favorites
A Museum: Begin your life together admiring the art around you. What a feast for the eyes and the soul.
An old factory or warehouse: Cool old buildings and their time-worn charm are the perfect nod to industrial chic. The space itself is the décor.
A library: There is something incredibly romantic about saying your vows amidst all the great love stories. Carrie Bradshaw and Mister Big were visionaries.
A rooftop lounge: Romance blooms as you watch the city from a bird’s-eye view. Consider a night wedding and watch the sky light up just for you.
In the middle of a forest: What could be more enchanting than exchanging your vows amidst the lush greenery, moss and woodland creatures? This is a midsummer’s night dream, indeed.
Your own backyard: Because home is where your heart is, after all. Why not treat your guests to the sweetest comforts you have to offer? •
